In the 18th Century no wealthy household would be complete without one or more bracket or table clocks to compliment the static longcase. These clocks were designed to be portable and carried around the house as required. Because of their size and attention to detail, bracket clocks were extremely expensive and the product of the finest London clockmakers.

The clock designs mirrored the period styles that influenced longcase clocks, the earliest recognised form being the basket top, popular from 1675-1700. From the reign of Anne and persisting into that of George II the inverted bell top was in vogue.

The broken arch-top begins about 1765, and can be described a Hepplewhite type. The arch-top is the Sheraton style of case, from 1785 onwards, alternating with the balloon in various forms and featuring fine marquetry.

These styles are reflected in the collection we make today. Improvements in design and technical progress has made it possible to offer these clocks with various movement types, from superb 9 bell triple chime movements to precision quartz movements, to suit all requirements in the modern home.
